03/ Civil Concrete Assessment

Non-destructively testing of concrete structures can offer a fast low cost solution and reveal information about the structure that is otherwise difficult or almost impossible to obtain.  It is faster and a lower cost option to destructive testing like core drilling.

After several years of research Palmer Technologies has developed a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique for assessing the damage to refractory and concrete structures. Compared to other methods this technique provides a system of analysing concrete structures which has the ability to drastically reduce testing time and give clients a better understanding of the structure life cycle.

P- Response™ technology is ideally suited for testing industrial concrete structures for damage.  The sample principal used in testing refractory lined vessels is used.

P-Response™ technique is a fast screening method for identifying suspect areas non-destructively as opposed to visual inspection or core drilling. The P-Response™ (patented technology) method can be used to detect; Voiding beneath concrete slabs, walls, spillways and floors; Curling of slabs; Anchoring of panels; Delaminations and honeycombing in bridge decks, slabs, walls and large structures such as dams, chimney stacks and silos; Debonding of overlays (eg asphalt), concrete overlays and patches from concrete substrates.
